Port4444— SNMP / alternative HTTP
IANA enregistre TCP 4444 pour plusieurs services, dont KRB524 (conversion Kerberos v4 vers v5). Il sert aussi de port HTTP(S) alternatif pour certaines interfaces IPMI/BMC, Kerio Control, des tableaux de bord IoT et des points de débogage. Le gestionnaire reverse-shell par défaut de Metasploit l’utilise également ; une écoute publique inattendue sur 4444 est donc souvent jugée suspecte.
Registry assignments, software defaults and local listeners are different things. A port number alone does not identify or secure a service.
Configuration and troubleshooting
Pour examiner une écoute sur 4444, `ss -tulpn | grep :4444` indique le processus. S’il est inconnu, recherchez d’abord une compromission (`lsof -p <pid>` affiche les fichiers et connexions ouverts). Pour un produit connu comme IPMI, modifiez le port dans l’interface d’administration et mettez à jour les règles de pare-feu en même temps.
Important limitations
Metasploit utilisant 4444 par défaut, une écoute publique attire des scans constants. Les interfaces d’administration sur 4444 (IPMI/BMC) doivent être protégées par des restrictions de source ou un accès VPN.
