TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) chạy trên UDP 69, không có xác thực hay liệt kê thư mục. Nó phục vụ phân phối tự động — firmware bộ định tuyến, khởi động mạng PXE, cấp cấu hình điện thoại VoIP — khi máy khách đã biết chính xác tên tệp.

Important limitations
TFTP hoàn toàn không có xác thực: bất kỳ máy khách nào đoán được tên tệp đều có thể đọc nó. Tuyệt đối không đưa ra internet — chỉ dùng trong VLAN quản trị cô lập (PXE/VoIP).
